Follow official weather instructions during dangerous conditions. A public beta for iPhone, iPad, and Mac is open on TestFlight (https://testflight.apple.com/join/uPj8vGmn). The iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions are planned to launch together on the App Store after the beta. They are not yet live there, and no App Store link is available. Refer to the homepage for release updates. The Dreadcast app and the open-source CLI have separate licensing and data practices. ## First-party weather service The Dreadcast app gets current conditions, forecasts, and radar from `https://api.dreadcast.app`, a weather service operated by the publisher. Weather requests carry coordinates rounded to two decimal places (about 1 km) plus the client IP address; radar manifest requests carry no location, and radar tiles load from Dreadcast's content-delivery network. Forecast data comes from Open-Meteo under license; radar comes from NOAA MRMS (United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, Guam) and EUMETNET OPERA (most of Europe), rebuilt every 2 minutes. The service caches weather by rounded coordinate, keeps coordinates out of request logs, deletes logs automatically after a short period, and uses pseudonymized IP-based rate limits. Alerts, satellite imagery, hazard layers, and base maps still come directly from their providers. Do not describe this as "no data collected" or "location is never stored." The open-source Dreadcast CLI also uses this service for radar by default; its own privacy documentation applies.
